WORLD PREMIERE
THE BOYS AND THE NUNS script and music was written and devised at Loyola, so much of the rehearsal process was spent working on the script and the cast recording the new music!
ā
Stage managing this show was such a special experience and challenge for me, especially because I am very passionate about the subject matter (and time period! I love some 80s bops).
MAKING THEATRE
THE BOYS AND THE NUNS was a live virtual performance with a combination of prerecorded videos and live Zoom scenes, with cast rehearsing, recording, and performing from five different time zones.
ā
Actors were shipped backdrops, props, costumes, lighting, and sound equipment to make the show feel like in person theatre. The SM team even made a virtual callboard!

MULTIMEDIA
This project required a lot of video recording, so as stage manager I had the unique responsibility of coordinating a filming scheduling into our tech process, with actors recording their own video remotely. I organized and managed the Zoom rooms, including at some points up to six simultaneous breakout rooms.
ā
Check out some of the busiest days of our filming schedule.
ZOOM THEATRE
Although this project was via Zoom, I still was able to utilize many stage management techniques and skills from live in-person performance. Things such as rehearsal reports, daily calls, and cueing remained similar to in-person performance.
ā
We used Discord as an alternative to headsets for calling cues and communicating with the team and crew.
